Steeplejack

We are looking for experienced Steeplejacks who possess Level 2 or 3 NVQ Diploma Accessing Operations & Rigging (Construction) – Steeplejacking (QCF) to join our team.

Crown Services specialise in rope access works therefore a rope access ticket is also required.

We are looking to offer a long term or project specific opportunity (depending on your circumstances) and expand an already successful team due to an increase in workload.

Essential experience working on brick, concrete and steel chimneys is required as well as experience laddering chimneys. You must also have experience in carrying out chimney inspections and be able to translate your findings onto a written report.

Experience in installation of steeplejack scaffolding and cradles is essential.

Here at Crown Services, we offer a wide variety of services to our clients, therefore transferrable skills are required – do you have experience in the following?

Contracts Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to further their career in the industry, in a company that is fast paced and varied. No day is the same!

We are Crown Services Organisations Ltd and we carry out high level building surveys and refurbishments across Manchester and the UK, mainly via rope access techniques and/or specialist access. We also provide steeplejack services.

We are recruiting for someone to join our exciting team in our Manchester office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Working on projects with ranging in value from £1,000 to £1,000,000
Meeting with Client to discuss scope of works required whether it be investigation works or a condition survey. Advising Client on best course of action.
Compiling and writing full condition reports including recommendations and costings.
Estimating and providing quotes for all reactive works and projects.
Setting up jobs for site including; fully briefing the Operatives, liaising with Building Managers with regards to access, building up all H&S Documentation & ordering and obtaining all required materials.
Monitor the job on site for progress, labour and materials. Routinely meet with the Client to discuss progress.
Liaising with suppliers to procure the most cost-effective materials and plant.
Working with Sub-Contractors where applicable to obtain costings and manage and monitor works on site.
Carrying out all project admin using Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
In addition to assisting with the above, the preferred candidate will:

Assist with all admin tasks within the office
Collect materials from suppliers around Manchester and deliver to site
Be willing to work on site on occasion where required
The candidate should have the following skills and experience:

Previous trade background; roofing, rope access, Steeplejacking and/or general external building refurbishment works preferred.
Previous knowledge of building surveying and defects required.
Experience in estimating projects and completing tenders.
Experience writing RAMS, H&S documentations and project programmes.
Surveying qualifications are not essential but are hugely advantageous.
Willingness to learn quickly and get involved in all aspects of the business
Confident, enthusiastic and outgoing personality
Excellent written and numeracy skills
Previous office based experience
Willing to work on site from time to time when required.
Driving licence required

Salary: From £40,000.00 per year
