Wooden sills allow the runoff of rain from the window when functioning correctly, so if they are left untreated there is a high chance of the timber rotting on the sill and base of the window. Crown operatives are experienced in undertaking high level window sill replacements, from removing defective timber to cutting and fixing replacement timber. This includes undercoating and painting the new sill, before applying sealant to the full perimeter to ensure the wood is watertight.

If left without maintenance then the paint on windows can begin to flake and crack, allowing water to penetrate and rot the timber. Planned preventative maintenance can ensure that windows are sanded, painted with a suitable external paint, and the perimeters are fully sealed. This can add years on to the life of each window and prevent any potential water ingress or avoidable window replacements.
