CLIENT Manchester	To renew a liquid plastic roof covering after reports of the roof leaking in multiple areas
The Task	The client reported various leaks into one of the customer suites. The roof is one level below the main roof and has several hard to access areas. It also had another contractor’s cradle arms and weights positioned throughout, which presented us with obstacles that had to be considered when planning the project.
The Solution	Working with the client and a Garland representative, we agreed a specification that would be employed throughout the project. Our team then got to work, employing fall restraint and other specialist rope access techniques to ensure that all areas could be safely accessed. We worked closely with our client on a programme of works that included removing any defective substrate, before following the Duracoat specification to make sure the work achieved the Garland 20-year warranty.
The results	The roof has a 20-year warranty agreed with Garland, where they will arrange for any repairs to be completed if necessary within this time period (with no charge to the client) Prevented any further leaks into the customer suite below, and any further internal damage from occurring The roof was separated into different areas with a divider that was designed by one of our Contracts Managers. This meant the client was able to get the full warranty for each separate area included within the project The gutters were included within the specification and the work, so will also covered within the 20-year warranty Worked with other contractors to ensure work could progress safely in areas where multiple operatives were working
