External Building Condition Surveys

External building condition surveys can be completed utilising rope access techniques or MEWPs or a combination of both. We inspect the property beforehand for the best access method and agree these with the client proir to commencing meaning there is minimal disruption to the property and its occupants. Every aspect of the building fabric is thoroughly inspected, masonry, rainwater goods and windows. However, the list isn’t restricted to the ones mentioned here and can be altered to suit the needs and concerns of the client. Once the Condition Survey has been completed, you will receive a thorough condition survey report which will include all findings, photos, recommendations and elevation drawings to depict where each defect has been identified. On larger projects we understand that not all works can proceed all at once. Budget and time constraints often dictate what works can be carried out and when. With this in mind, we can provide a ‘traffic light’ recommendation within the report to advise what works are

Rope access surveys

Rope access surveys

Our Condition Surveys are most commonly carried out utilising rope access equipment. This method allows for a thorough inspection to be carried out on every aspect of the building fabric, including masonry, windows, roofs and rainwater goods or we can focus on specific areas of concern if required.
Once the condition survey has been carried out, all findings are presented in a condition report which includes all photos taken, recommendations for repair, alongside elevation drawings showing where the defects have been identified.

MEWP Surveys

MEWP Surveys

Here at Crown Services we always work with the client to ensure all their needs are met when it comes to budget and time constraints. Should a property allow for the use of a MEWP to carry out a survey (this is determined within the initial consultations), this can often reduce the timescale and cost of a survey. A combination of both Rope access and MEWPs are also often utilised to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.

Full Conditioning Reports

Full Conditioning Reports

Upon completion of a condition survey we always issue the client with a Full and Comprehensive Condition Survey report which outlines in detail all of our findings, all photos taken identifying any defects found, our recommendations and any associated costs for completing the works. Feedback from our Clients has been that they appreciate the fact that we can carry out both the surveying aspect and then also follow this through to carrying out the works on site, which is where we differ from other surveying companies.

Working on a large Grade Listed Building project can be challenging;

but Crown’s professionalism, knowledge and experience has proved invaluable when working with Conservation and the Council as Principal Contractor.”
